Which project was your most successful? Describe the theme and or topic and the process you went through to complete the project. I would say my most successful project was my suns.My idea was based off of the African paintings i had saw when we were doing our painting to sculpture project. When i had first started this i didnt know how i was going to do my sun rays how i was going to get the circles perfect or anything. I would say doing this project was the easiest yet hard because once my suns had started to dry some of the rays kept falling off which is what i was worried about in the beginning also the face i had put into my sun was very hard because i kinda suck at drawing faces. I had to make sure everything was centered correctly What is your least favorite material to work with and why? How did you deal with it, what didn’t you like about it. Please explain. My least favorite i would say is the paper mache. To me its harder to work with because u basically have to build your piece from scratch which is where i struggled the most. The body of my penguin was made out of a soda bottle and some wire. I didn't know where to put the beak of my penguin how it not make it crooked and how much plastic bags to use to fluff it up a little . The feet of my penguin was hard to make because i wanted to have them perfect and i had also forgotten the tail. I kind of had to do a leap of faith on my penguin because i had a feeling it wasn't going to turn out the way i wanted it too but i was okay with it because this was my first time and not everything is going to turn out the way u expect it too Choose a place or artwork where the subject matter reflects you as an artist. One that you have a personal connection to. Please explain.
The art work i chose was a picture i drew from illustration Friday. I did this one because reflects who i am. i am a very laid back person i love nature it relaxes me ive always wanted to go on a spiritual journey to find myself and become one with everything that exist in nature. My dream goal is to move out to the country when i'm 23 and run a dog farm with like 26 dogs and they will have cute little flower crowns. I find myself happier in nature where i can see the start and flyer flies at night and see the stars i just love sitting outside on a summer night looking at the sky and drinking tea or lemonade .

For my inspired artist i chose laura moriarty. I love how her projects remind me of candy and makes me get cavitys her colors are like sweet to me. Its like a fresh a breath air and i find it amazing how different her ideas come to be when she does another sculpture they also have the look to them like shes mimicking earths mountians i couldnt get the pictures to upload up here tho
For my painting to sculpture piece i decided to make a sun and a moon based of of african art. I got this idea from the one painting that had very earthy colors and it looked rustic to me a little bit and i thought back how most african art considers the sun in for some reason so i took it as it meant alot to them in a way
This is Chloe's painting to sculpture art and for this she is doing a box her medium is clay. After she creates this box she plans to and random swirls and lines to it
This is my finish look for my penguin so in the last post i basically explained how u i used a coke bottle to sculpt the body wires where the beak and wings are and how i used trash bags to fill the body out. After i had done all that i added the paper to the trash bags i wrapped around the art work then added on the paper mache to it to make it look fluffy in a way this process took about 3 days because of the parts that had to dry after it dried i tried to sand down the mache as much as i can i didnt want it too look to blucky or bumpy. Once the sanding was done paint was just added
For this project i decided i wanted to keep things very simple and elegant kind of.I figured since everybody else was doing a room i should do the side of the house. The first step i took to making this was drawing out my idea which just consisted of me drawing a box adding on bricks and the windows. Once i had gotten my idea ready i grabbed a cardboard box and had cut it into a square which would be the wall for the outside of my house and then i cut more peices but thinner and smaller into the shape of a trapaziod and put them on the sides of the wall and the top to gie it a little dimesion. Once that was done i added the window first so later on i could put the smaller cardboard that is brick around it. Once all this was done i added the bricks to give the wall more features so people could tell thats what it was.I noticed that the wall still looked plain so i added a lil flower holder near the window and added fake flowers to it , i had also noticed that the glue i was using had gotten stringy so i turned the string dry glue into old cobb webs and thats how i made this
For the start of my vessel project i used a large tube to get the trunk of my tree and once i had gotten that and flattened out my clay i wrapped the clay piece around the tin foil i put around the cylinder so the clay would not stick to the tube, After i got the clay wrapped a round the tube i started at the lower half of the clay and started pushing it down and out to get the bottom of the tree where the roots usually hold on to . With this part i had to add on clay to make sure the bottom of the tree was flat and even . Once i had gotten that set and done i added a whole bunch of clay to the center of my tree truck so i could place a mini candle with in this nitch . when i added enough and marked where i was going to start carving i started to carve . When the carving and shaping of the candle holder was there i used a slitting tool to give the tree a nice texture to it then it was put in the fire thing. When t got out i gave it a nice brown underglaze with a hint of a light brown to it .
I picked this picture by Andrew miller because it is deeper then most people think it is this picture represents how everybody has a little kid inside of them no matter how old they become |
